Absolutely! While many contractors carry liability-only insurance and claim that they are “fully insured,” here at Laurence Wine Construction we value our associates and our clients by carrying a liability policy, a worker’s compensation policy, commercial auto insurance and an umbrella policy that covers any items the others might miss. While we have never had to make a claim against any of our policies, our clients can rest assured that they will be covered if something were to happen.

We do both. We have a select group of trusted sub-contractors with whom we have been working with exclusively, for an average of 14 years. Several of these sub-contractors have been with us since the beginning of Laurence Wine Construction, Inc., and all hold themselves to the same incredibly high bar as we hold ourselves. Integrity, care, and customer experience are of the highest importance to our owner, Larry, and all of our associates are accustomed to working in our client’s homes, and know how to treat both the homeowner and their property with the utmost respect and attention to detail. Larry, is also an expert and trained finish carpenter – you will likely see him around the project with a tool belt on.

We offer a comprehensive warranty, in writing, for twelve (12) months, which is the industry standard. There are also longer warranties provided independently for different components of the project (the roof, appliances, etc…be sure to ask Larry about these details). Because we stand behind the quality of our work and one of our biggest joys is to see our customers enjoy the fruits of their investment for a long time, we have been known to take care of issues past the warranty period with few exceptions - just give us a call.

Many factors go into pricing a remodeling job. The most obvious is making sure all estimates have the same materials and scope of work. If you have questions or need clarity to help understand all the information, we always recommended asking the contractor who provided the estimate for clarification. Quality of work is hard to show in a written estimate and is always factored into the costs. The value of an expert contractor can be verified by calling references and/or visiting jobs the contractor has completed. A tip that Larry likes to share with his potential clients is to check references for work completed many years ago to see how their works stand up to the test of time. Additionally, properly licensed contractors that carry all of the required insurances will typically price higher than handymen or under-licensed and under-insured contractors.

We believe in providing our clients with clear and reliable estimates for their remodeling projects. For the vast majority of projects, the estimate will be honored for thirty (30) days after presentation to the client. This means you'll have a full month to review the details and make your decision, ensuring you feel confident and comfortable moving forward with our services. Whether it's a residential or commercial remodeling job, our goal is to make the process as seamless and transparent as possible for you.

For small to mid-sized projects (up to around $50,000) we will provide a homeowner with a written proposal with the Total Cost on it. We make every reasonable effort to honor that contract price. For example, we are not going to ask a homeowner to pay extra because a particular aspect of the project is taking a little longer than expected (a miscalculation in our cost estimate). However, occasionally something will arise that was previously unforeseen and will require extra costs to remedy, or, a much more common scenario, is that a homeowner will decide to make some changes as the project progresses. Both situations will be handled with a written change order. Transparent pricing is important to us.

For larger projects (over $50,000) we prefer to work on a cost-plus basis. We will spend a significant amount of time putting together an estimate; not just a square footage price, or a “shot in the dark” estimate, we take the extra time to be thorough for our clients so there is a clear expectation of what your final budget should be for your project.

We do not offer financing directly through our organization. However, we understand that financing is a crucial component of large remodeling projects. To assist our clients, we can connect you with trusted financial resources and institutions that may be able to provide the financing you need. We follow all safety and compliance in all our renovation projects, particularly those involving homes constructed before 1978. Such homes fall under the federal Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule due to potential lead-based paint hazards. This rule is enforced at the federal level to ensure the safety and health of occupants, particularly children and pregnant women.

We strictly adhere to all federal and state requirements, including the mandates of the RRP Rule. Our certified renovators follow proper protocols, such as using lead-safe work practices, containing the work area, minimizing dust, and performing thorough cleaning after project completion. We also provide our customers with the necessary documentation and compliance certificates to assure them that their home has been renovated safely and legally. All of our renovations are conducted with the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
